HOW TO USE THE REFRACTOMETER:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Device calibration (water required)<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/span>Add a few drops of water to the prism to cover the surface and close the lid, avoiding air bubbles.<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Look into the refractometer lens while facing a light source.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Check that the reading is 0. If not, adjust the device by screwing the calibration screw until the reading is 0.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Wipe the prism with the cleaning wipe to prepare the device for the next reading.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Make sure the prism is clean and there is nothing on its surface.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    D<\/strong><\/span>etermining the coolant concentration using the refractometer<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

    <\/span>Check the refractive index of the coolant. You will need to multiply the refractometer reading by this figure (e.g. coolant concentration = 5.0 (refractometer reading) * 1.1 (refractive index) = 5.5%).<\/span><\/p>\n
