The Renishaw M4 straight stylus is designed for inspecting a single feature where the stylus path to the feature to be inspected is free of direct obstruction. The carbon fiber rod is extremely lightweight, and ideal for applications where weight is critical. The ruby tip, one of the hardest materials known, reduces wear on the product to a minimum. The ruby tip is however not suitable for inspecting aluminum elements due to the mutual adhesion of the materials.
